Ontada®, a McKesson company specializing in community oncology data, clinical education, and point-of-care technologies, has formed a strategic partnership with Datavant to expand access to Ontada’s real-world data through Datavant’s health data ecosystem. This collaboration enables life science companies to quickly access Ontada’s comprehensive data, accelerating oncology research and advancing innovative treatments for cancer patients.
Ontada’s dataset includes insights from over 2.4 million patients across 80+ tumor types through The US Oncology Network (The Network), a prominent network of community-based cancer practices. The Network treats one in five cancer patients in the U.S. and offers a unique view of community oncology care, where 85% of patients receive treatment.
“Given the increasing importance and volume of real-world data, our Life Sciences partners need efficient ways to identify suitable data sources,” said Amy O'Sullivan, Ontada’s Senior VP and Chief Research Officer. “Our partnership with Datavant accelerates the identification of data for real-world evidence generation, commercial strategies, and drug development.”
Datavant’s President, Arnaub Chatterjee, emphasized the collaboration’s potential impact: “We’re eager to combine Ontada’s community-level insights with Datavant’s extensive real-world data ecosystem to advance oncology research and speed up access to life-altering therapies for patients.”
This collaboration follows Ontada’s recent partnership with Microsoft to apply AI to unstructured healthcare data, further enhancing data utility. Through Datavant, Ontada’s partners will now have secure, tokenized access to Ontada’s representative database, maximizing data-driven insights for oncology innovation.
