MGI Tech Co., Ltd. (MGI), a company focused on driving innovation in life science through core tools and technology, has announced a partnership with the Human Cell Atlas (HCA) consortium to advance human cell mapping globally. As part of this collaboration, MGI will provide HCA members with discounted access to its single-cell sequencing and spatial transcriptomics technologies, facilitating broader adoption within the consortium.
“Cutting-edge single cell and spatial genomics are key drivers for the HCA project,” said John Randell, HCA’s Chief Alliance Officer. “MGI’s involvement in our discount program will empower members and accelerate HCA’s progress.”
Through this partnership, HCA researchers gain access to MGI’s scalable, cost-effective solutions in single-cell and spatial omics. MGI will also offer support in experimental design, assay execution, and bioinformatics, aiding members in leveraging its technologies for research.
MGI’s single-cell product line, introduced in 2019, is based on its DNBSEQ™ technology and includes the DNBelab C-TaiM 4, a portable device for high-throughput single-cell 3'RNA, 5'RNA & V(D)J, ATAC analysis. This compact device integrates dual-bead cell capture, microfluidic droplet generation, and advanced computing to enable precise genomic analysis in any setting.
In June 2024, MGI became an official distributor of STOmics products, including Stereo-seq technology, which enhances spatial multi-omics research with nanoscale resolution and unbiased transcriptome capture. Stereo-seq applications span developmental biology, neuroscience, and digital pathology, with 60+ publications in high-impact journals.
Duncan Yu, MGI’s President, expressed pride in supporting HCA’s mission to map human cells and drive discoveries in genomics and disease. Founded in 2016, HCA has grown to over 3,600 members across 100+ countries and produced 400+ publications, offering critical insights into human biology.
MGI will further support HCA at the HCA Asia 2024 Meeting in Hong Kong, December 3-4, fostering idea exchanges and partnership opportunities.
