AIG Hospitals is set to invest ₹800 crore in establishing a 300-bed oncology centre at its Gachibowli campus, featuring the region’s first Proton Beam Therapy system. The facility will be the first in the Telugu states and the third in India to offer this advanced radiation therapy.
Proton Beam Therapy is a highly precise form of radiation treatment that effectively targets tumours while minimizing damage to surrounding healthy tissues. It is particularly beneficial for treating complex cancers in children and adults with tumours near critical organs.
Dr. D. Nageshwar Reddy, Chairman of AIG Hospitals, emphasized that the new technology will enable the hospital to provide world-class cancer care. The hospital has partnered with IBA, a Belgium-based leader in proton therapy, to acquire the Proteus One Proton Therapy System with Dynamic ARC technology.
This state-of-the-art system represents the latest advancement in radiation therapy. Notably, AIG Hospitals' installation will be the first of its kind in South-East Asia. Dynamic ARC proton therapy enhances precision and efficiency, offering better clinical outcomes.
“At AIG Hospitals, our commitment is to prioritize patient care. The acquisition of Proton Beam Therapy and our collaboration with IBA mark a significant step in delivering cutting-edge, compassionate treatment,” stated Dr. Reddy.
With this initiative, AIG Hospitals aims to set new benchmarks in oncology treatment, reinforcing its position as a leading provider of advanced cancer care in India.
