Oncare, a cancer care startup, has raised $1 million in a seed funding round led by Huddle Ventures, with additional participation from institutional investors like TRTL Ventures, Cloud Capital, and DeVC. The funds will support the company’s expansion to 10 new centers across Delhi NCR, Bangalore, and Jaipur over the next two years, alongside team growth and marketing efforts to increase awareness of its affordable cancer care services.
Founded in 2023 by Deepak Kumar and Amar Sneh, Oncare partners with 50-100 bedded hospitals to establish dedicated oncology wings, significantly reducing treatment costs by up to 40%. The startup aims to provide high-quality, affordable cancer treatment, offering a cost-effective alternative to expensive therapies, which often exceed Rs 10 lakh in corporate hospitals. In addition, Oncare provides on-call nursing support to help patients manage side effects and anxiety without frequent hospital visits.
Since launching in South Delhi, Oncare has guided over 2,500 patients in their treatment journeys and completed more than 500 treatment sessions. The need for accessible cancer care in India is critical, with cancer cases expected to rise from 1.39 million in 2020 to 1.57 million by 2025, according to annual Health of Nation report by Apollo Hospitals, as high costs and limited oncology centers continue to pose challenges.
