Merck, a leading science and technology company, has appointed Dhananjay Singh as the Managing Director of Merck Life Science in India, effective April 1, 2024. Singh’s appointment marks a significant milestone in his career, as he continues to hold the position of Head of Science & Lab Solutions Commercial, India. He succeeds Sreenath NS, who retired after a distinguished 36-year tenure with Merck in India.
Singh brings to his new role 26 years of invaluable experience with Merck, during which he has played a pivotal role in shaping the Science and Lab Solutions Commercial business in India. His steadfast commitment to advancing scientific progress in collaboration with customers has been exemplary. Singh’s deep understanding of market dynamics and adeptness in managing multi-stakeholder relationships are viewed as instrumental in bolstering Merck Life Science’s foothold in the Indian market.
In his expanded capacity as Managing Director, Singh will spearhead the Life Science strategy in India, ensuring robust governance and compliance in conjunction with other leaders from Merck’s diverse businesses in the country. His journey with Merck began in 1997 at Sigma-Aldrich, where he steadily ascended through various leadership roles within the Commercial Organization, ultimately culminating in his appointment as Head of Science & Lab Solutions Commercial for India in 2022.
