Bengaluru-based startup 4baseCare, an Illumina Accelerator company specializing in precision oncology through advanced genomics and digital health technology, has secured $6 million in Series A funding. The round was led by Yali Capital, along with other investors. This investment will be used to enhance 4baseCare’s product offerings, scale operations, and expand its presence across India, as well as other Asian and Middle Eastern countries.
Mathew Cyriac, Founding General Partner at Yali Capital, highlighted the significant potential within the cancer genomics sector, stating that 4baseCare’s ability to incorporate data from underrepresented populations will lead to more accurate treatment recommendations. He emphasized the opportunity to build impactful businesses while improving millions of lives.
Hitesh Goswami, CEO and Co-Founder of 4baseCare, expressed that the new funding will further the company’s mission of making personalized cancer care accessible to millions. The company has already made a significant impact, with its genomic tests benefiting over 10,000 cancer patients across Southeast Asia.
The company’s growth is bolstered by a strong advisory board, including Francis deSouza, a seasoned Silicon Valley tech veteran and former CEO of Illumina, who brings over 30 years of expertise in genomics and healthcare. In the coming months, 4baseCare plans to establish genomics laboratories in the Philippines, Nepal, and Dubai. The focus will also be on developing genomics and digital health solutions, leveraging advanced data analytics to improve clinical insights and treatment recommendations.
