Patients across all district hospitals and primary health centers (PHCs) in the state will soon have access to Artificial Intelligence-driven lung cancer screening tools. Rane emphasized the state’s commitment to comprehensive cancer care, highlighting its leadership in the field.
With district hospitals in Mapusa and Margao, Goa is set to pioneer AI-based screening for lung cancer, ensuring early detection and timely intervention. Rane also underscored the state’s proactive approach by mentioning free breast cancer screenings available at state-run PHCs, facilitating crucial early diagnoses.
Moreover, in a bid to enhance accessibility to advanced treatments, the Goa Medical College offers the Pertuzumab-Trastuzumab combo therapy free of cost to patients diagnosed with HER2+ breast cancer, a testament to the state’s dedication to holistic patient care.
In a groundbreaking collaboration with the Tata Memorial, Goa is poised to establish a state-of-the-art multi-super-specialty cancer hospital, promising top-tier care to its residents. This initiative further solidifies the state’s position as a frontrunner in advancing cancer care methodologies.
